Via Sean at FiredUp Missouri, Donnybrook finally posted their episode where they talked about Ed Martin's ridiculous comments that Obama and Russ Carnahan are trying to take away people's ability to practice their faith. You can watch the video here:
An important note on the "Ed Martin is Crazy like a Fox" theory expressed by several of the guests, who seem to think that Ed Martin intentionally made this an issue to get media attention. Ed Martin made his comments on a small AM Christian radio station that has a tiny audience and does not even provide podcasts of its shows. These comments would not even have been available but for the fact that Sean recorded them. So I don't think the argument that Martin was doing this on purpose makes any sense. He was saying ridiculous comments because he thought his message would be targeted to the audience of Gina Loudon's show: right-wing fundamentalist Christians. His message would not appeal to anyone else, probably not even sane Republicans. So I don't think there's any question that this being made a national issue is harmful for Ed Martin's campaign.
