The liberal Progressive Change Campaign Committee is trying to take that a step further, and released polling today on a "millionaire's tax."Seems like a smart way to balance the budget without destroying the safety net, if you ask me.
The poll question, asked by the Democratic firm PPP, "In order to reduce the national debt, would you support or oppose raising taxes on those with incomes over $1,000,000 a year?"
Asked that way, 78% of voters in Ohio backed the measure, 76% in Missouri, 77% in Montana, and 79% in Minnesota.
Update: Just saw that Fired Up Missouri already posted about this shortly before I did:
In Missouri, 67 percent of those polled were in favor of higher taxes on those making more than $250,000 a year and 76 percent supported higher taxes for those making over 1 million dollars.
