Only Fox 2 News and Show Me Progress Cover Union Rally

Yesterday, 300 union supporters rallied in St. Louis as part of nationwide "We Are One" events marking the anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., who was shot while in Memphis supporting sanitation workers trying to form a union. From what I heard, only Fox 2 News (with Charles Jaco) and progressive blog Show Me Progress covered the event. Here's the Fox 2 video:

The Post-Dispatch had articles from national organizations, and provided no coverage of the local events.

Consequences of Republicans Blocking Unemployment Benefits Are Worse Than We Thought

Recall that Todd Akin, Roy Blunt, Jo Ann Emerson, Sam Graves and Blaine Luetkemeyer all voted to block unemployment benefit extensions. Republicans in the Senate are similarly preventing passage.

Missouri Republicans Vote To Block Unemployment Extensions

Charles Jaco of KTVI had a nice report showing one of the 40,000+ Missourians affected by this absurd and heartless political posturing:

Note to people who want to post angry comments without bothering to know what they're talking about: this is a vote that required a 2/3rds majority. So yes, Republicans blocked it. Try reading next time.
