They have a point, though. In an ideal situation, all stakeholders working together for consensus creates change with buy-in and momentum. But, this isn't a social club. It's STL politics, and too many people from all sides are saying "what's in it for me?" or "why wasn't I consulted?" then flexing political power in retaliation. That's polarization out of spite, and it is just as bad as the exclusion tactics for the city. How about on the count of three, we all check our egos? Ready? 1... 2... 3! However, I think it's about how you define "stand up against." I agree with you that getting out face to face is very important, but I think Clay is also correct that how someone votes is too.

Personally I think both candidates, and the rest of the Democratic Party, was too quiet during the tea party "aggression." The reason Carnahan stood up against the tea party was because they came to him. They didn't go to Clay's events.

When it comes to votes the difference is stronger. Clay consistently supports progressive issues in Congress, Carnahan less so, a fact I didn't realize until this primary. I don't support all of Clay's votes, voting against TARP for example, but I support the reasoning behind the vote.trianglmanhttp://twitter.com/trianglmannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4924392915564296358.post-57295467356326308622012-07-31T11:38:07.762-05:002012-07-31T11:38:07.762-05:00TRUTH!TRUTH!EHEVANS@SBCGLOBAL.NETnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4924392915564296358.post-83106132676638889752012-07-27T11:53:37.212-05:002012-07-27T11:53:37.212-05:00It is July 27 11:00 a.m. At this very moment Monsa...It is July 27 11:00 a.m. At this very moment Monsanto is having their Monsanto Global Engineering Backyard Barbecue in Mcdonnell park on Adie rd. in St. Ann MO! This is not a joke! I just saw them cooking up lots of meat 30 minutes ago while I was running in the park. They are under the lindbergh pavillion, the furthest one back. They even have the nerve to have a red and white checkered banner announcing their barbecue, as if it was some sweet grandmother's picnic! These are the people that brought you genetic engineering on a global scale! This is a golden opportunity to protest them. Rarely do you see the enemy in public, they are usually hiding behind their corporate walls. You can not miss them. They are the overweight white men with very short hair, pale skin and glasses. Most of them have Ron Paul stickers on their pickup trucks, a few had rebel flags! I guess Mittens Romney is not far right enough for them. I urge all local activists to get out there and protest them at this moment, this opportunity may not present itself again. Tell every activist of all types to get out there right now! GO!
