She did a little mini-rant against the singer Shakira who said “I think that being detained in the street just because of the color of your skin is just wrong, and it’s a violation of human and civil rights.”

Dana writes: "I think that’s wrong as well. Fortunately, that’s not what this law does...Police just can’t detain people in the streets."

Hmmm, I guess Dana didn't see the new bill, HB2162, signed by Gov. Brewer on Friday. The bill modifies the immigration bill signed last week. HB 2162 also clarifies that law-enforcement officers shall inquire about the immigration status only of those they "stop, detain or arrest." The earlier bill simply said "contact."

Note the word "detain" in the new bill. Another example of offal effluent from the Community Organizer.

http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/2010/05/01/20100501arizona-immigration-law-revised.htmlRuss Weisshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15894042748099997580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4924392915564296358.post-89516072268148629202010-04-30T19:19:09.450-05:002010-04-30T19:19:09.450-05:00Annette, that comment is a thing of beauty.Annette, that comment is a thing of beauty.Michellehttp://theboneblog.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4924392915564296358.post-37561979235002017352010-04-30T13:22:22.869-05:002010-04-30T13:22:22.869-05:00Annette, yup, you're exactly right. There is ...Annette, yup, you're exactly right. There is an "incident" at almost every event because they are constantly doing the right-wing victimization schtick. They are always looking for an excuse to scream to the media about how they're being oppressed.STLAHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09847700690428802300noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4924392915564296358.post-67803188952610790182010-04-30T11:18:05.549-05:002010-04-30T11:18:05.549-05:00I'm a little confused by this whole story. I don't see any tear gassing, I don't see water cannons, tasing, people getting their
skulls cracked open with batons or even free speech zones a mile from the venue. What I see in the video is the police moving the protestors across the street and blocking the side the police wanted them moved from. The police don't even have riot shields. Did I miss a part of the video? Cuz it doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me.
Also, why are the TPs so up in arms about secret service presence, extra police and snipers on rooftops? I thought the President was
there and that's common security for a President. Did they really think all that was for them?
Maybe this is the victim thing, but I'm starting to notice that there is an "incident" at every one of their gatherings. Some small thing has to happen - can't just gather and protest and go home, no there always is some fly in the ointment to cry about, until the next one.
I've noticed that some of these tea party leaders do this in their real lives too: every time they go to the store someone tries to mow
them and their kids down with their car, every time they go to the movies they get bad seats, bad popcorn or gum in their hair. You get
the idea. Somewhere along the way, this whiney complaining thing got misconstrued as "snark" hip and cool to always complain and be outraged. It's not. The one trick pony is getting old!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
