Gerdes has attended events in the past with the purpose of causing trouble. When he was in St. Louis to protest President Obama's visit, he dressed up in an SEIU outfit:

Today, Tookie has been bragging about traveling up to Madison, Wisconsin for the protests with Andrew Breitbart:

However, Gateway Pundit wrote a post about the caravan and left out any photos of Gerdes. I asked Gerdes yesterday on Twitter if he was planning on wearing his SEIU shirt and he said, "maybe" with a :-).
Whether or not Gerdes is wearing an SEIU shirt, he will definitely be trying to catch or provoke video that makes the Left look bad, as will Breitbart and probably many other tea party members. There are two important things to keep in mind: (1) make sure everyone knows that they should be on their best behavior. Breitbart, Gerdes, and others want you to say things that can be used against you, especially anything that can be construed as violent. And (2) if you see a tea partier trying to provoke, you need to make sure that someone is recording everything they do. It's very easy in an environment like Madison today to get enough of a soundbite to make someone look bad, but if the entire conversation is recorded, people can judge for themselves. What Breitbart and his group look for are asymmetrical situations, where they have cameras and the other side does not; hopefully, the good folks in Madison won't let that happen.
Thanks, Adam. I'm sharing this as widely as I can with those in Madison.
